ACCESS
_________________________________________________________________________________________________

There are three entrances to the open space park, as follows:

1. Del Arroyo Dr.
The Del Arroyo Dr. entrance is a street off of La Tuna Canyon Blvd in La Tuna Canyon. It is a city street, but at what appears to be the end of a street, there is a gate beyond which is a stream bed. The stream bed is actually a continuation of Del Arroyo Dr. Walk about another 300 yards and that is the beginning of the Fond property. Please look at the map on this website for boundary location. When this property was purchased from Ahead with Horses, we counted over 100 Oak trees, but that was before the La Tuna Fire. Please make your own count and report back through the website. Please keep your dogs on a leash and pick up any trash you see, even if it is not yours. Del Arroyo Dr. is a public street so public street parking is allowed. This entrance is mainly for hikers and equestrians.
2. Sunland Blvd.
The Sunland Blvd entrance is located at the Sunland Blvd. and the eastbound on-ramp to the #210 freeway. This entrance is locked because of problems with homeless people formerly living on site. As set forth elsewhere on the website, these problems led to the installation of a $20,000 fence and $15,000 in clean-up expenses. Access can be arranged by contacting the Fond Foundation (tinaeick@icloud.net). This site has beautiful Oak trees and an occasional deer. Limited parking is available on the street. It does not connect with other portions of the open space.
3. Teazel Canyon
The Teazel Canyon entrance is off of Sunland Blvd about halfway between Wheatland and the #210 freeway. The Fond Foundation has access through a recorded nonexclusive easement down Teazel Canyon to the Fond Foundation property. While the road is a private road, the ingress and egress easement exists. We will be putting up signs in the future. Please review the maps which are part of this website. At the very end of Teazel Canyon, there is a concrete driveway to the right, which belongs to the Fond Foundation. There is a flat lot at the end of the concrete driveway which provides limited parking. If there is no parking available, there is limited parking on Sunland Blvd about 100 yards east of the entrance to Teazel Canyon. Park there and walk up Teazel Canyon to the Fond Foundation park entrance. Please refer to the website maps for boundaries. As always, please keep your dogs on a leash, no smoking, no fires nor motorized vehicles beyond the parking lot are allowed. Please pick up your trash and also pick up trash you see left by others.
